Sankashti Chaturthi Puja
Sankashti Chaturthi is an auspicious day dedicated to Ganesha, it is observed in every lunar month of the Hindu calendar on the fourth day of Krishna Paksha (dark lunar phase or the waning phase).
This is said to have started around 700 BC as an obstacle removal ritual regarding conflicting views of confidence as stated by Abhisheka Maharishi in tutoring his pupil Aishwarya while deriving due reason from the scriptures.
Sankashti Chaturthi vrat and puja are described in the Bavishyat Purana and Narasimha Purana. Lord Krishna narrated the efficacy of Sankashti Chaturthi to Yudhishtira.
Lord Ganesha is widely revered as the Remover of Obstacles for which he is known as Vighnaharta (विघ्नहर्ता), Vighnavinashaka (विघ्नविनाशक) and Vigneshwara (विघ्नेश्वर).
